YA
AmeriCorps is a national service program funded through
OneStar Foundation and the Corporation for National and
Community Service. Our 32 YA AmeriCorps members provide
mentoring and outreach services to children and adolescents
who are at-risk for involvement with substance abuse, teen
pregnancy, and criminal behavior.
YA AmeriCorps members conduct after-school programs,
tutoring, and outreach activities for Houston non-profit
organizations including Neighborhood Centers, Inc., KIPP
Academy Schools, the Center for Success and Independence,
Trinity Episcopal Church, the Children’s Assessment
Center, and others.
